Been doing a bit of work on the DT I bought "by accident" last year - it's remarkable how unmolested it is - still has the original toolkit, and no-one has butchered the airbox snorkel either - usually the first thing to go!

I noticed a small pool of fork-oil when I was giving it a once-over, so I decided to quickly strip the forks......R6000 later and I have new spokes, front disk, pads, calliper seals, new ignition switch, chain-guards.......and I promised myself I wouldn't go overboard on this one.....

The NOS Silencer arrives from Pro-Circuit in the US later this month :whistling:

Haha - my old Triumph! I had a lovely '83 Alfa Spyder - really original and in great condition. It was actually the one which was used in the CAR magazine advert parked on Kyalami's main straight. I had a guy who was a bike collector and who was dead keen on the Alfa, so I made a deal with him - swapped him for the Triumph, and the YW100 Scooter in the background. He had crashed the Triumph at some stage, and when he had it repaired, bought a lot of aftermarket parts - so I reckon I got quite a good deal. I'm not a great fan of the blue though - I'm still toying with the idea of taking it back to the original black.

It's a wonderful bike - and the best part is that when I ride it, it's almost as if the cars don't treat you like some yob on a superbike, but rather like some chilled old bugger on his grandfathers bike!

Had some fun with the tacho - the original needle had wrapped itself around the dial somehow.  There's no way you are going to find an original DT200 Tacho here in SA (only 25 bikes came in officially), and the guys used to chuck them in the bin anyway.  Next best was one of a DT125LC - but the one I managed to buy had a broken temperature gauge.  Cue a few beers, a 3mm slot drill on my milling machine, and a very steady hand.  Milled both the units open, and did a swap of the internals.  Not totally original (the redlines are different), but this bike isn't going to be entered in any originality competitions!
