It’s 2019 and we are still talking about these 2010 antiquated water bladders ????

Don’t worry the height of MTB storage alternative seems to be attaching a tube and bomb to your frame with a Velcro strap and then bike packing as many bottles to your frame as possible.

Leave my nether regions out of it

I still use my hump on the mtb

No cages on my bike

I have something similar but made by Columbia.  Holds 2 external bottles too.  Bought it for hiking and have wondered if I would look like a tool cycling with it.   :whistling:

Try it and wonder no more

I always find it funny that the guys I know who are getting obsessed with losing the back pack and getting close to the bike packing look with bottles, bags and all kinds of junk strapped to their bikes are the same guys who will *** on you for not having a clean set up on your bars, that your cables might be slightly messy and that you might be running different front / back tyres.

If you wear a camelbac or similar under your cycling top it becomes an aerodynamic device by smoothing the gap between your head and lower back.....

I’m sure the UCI have a rule against this tho....

The shock positioning on my bike doesn't allow for a water bottle, so I bought one of those compact 1.5L Camelbaks as i read somewhere that the bigger ones move a lot more on your back when riding etc.

I can now take comfortable sips every 10-15min, whereas with a water bottle I often neglected this or on techy terrain just couldn't take one hand off the handlebar.

I like riding with my Camelbak and find it very comfortable.

My take on it is that since I am not a race snake, I'll wear the camelbak. During the 2015 Baviaans, I came off at about 50km/h! Even when I am not a racesnake speeds like these are easy to achieve and at those speeds, you are very likely to get injured. Broke my shoulder and I had to withdraw at 156kms. Thing is, if I did not have the Camelbak, my injuries would have been much worse. I use a Mule with some kind of back protection. I'll swear by that! Whats more, I have space for enough tools, more than enough water and a 1st aid kit. The shirt pockets and the saddlebags are just way too small. There is the penalty of weight, but it counts as resistance and overall I am just better prepared. Who cares what it looks like? I do not ride my bike on a fashion show.
