A couple that have been missed for me...

As Good as it Gets

5th Element

The Patriot

Starwars

Something about Mary

Inception

Trainspotting

Ace Ventura Pet Detective

Saving Private Ryan

The Wrestler

Must say, also not a fan of much produced of late - but it's probably down to not looking for the good stuff. Can't recall the last time I watched a Sunday "premiere" - they've generally looked shocking.

Watched Guardians of the Galaxy. Then a thunderstorm hit Pretoria, so I was outside and missed 90% of the movie. The bit I saw of the movie was meh...

Watched Dracula untold something or another over the weekend, and really enjoyed it!

As for Tom Hardy.

One Word:

Lawless.

Andrew, the only thing that made me not want to cry about the time wasted watching the wrestler was seeing Marissa Tomei's boobies....

Interstellar

Impressive movie

Saw it on Sunday evening. As a pretty big Christopher Nolan fan, and somebody who studied film I must say I was slightly let down (especially because of the hype). I'm not saying it wasn't an epic film in terms of what they pulled off technically (it was technically and visually magnificent), but I really found the characters weak and parts of the story quite weak.

Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to see a mindblowing film, but don't expect it to be quite as good as the hype suggests.

Ps. This is obviously my own opinion.

There's a lot in Internet chatter about the science in Interstellar being flawed. But, hey, who cares? I'd watch it just to hear the soundtrack.

like the science in Prometheus...but ridley scott can do no wrong  ^_^

Not a massive Nolan fan...but it looks good

Just whatever you do, make sure the cinema you go to has their sound sorted.

Mada3400 & I went to see it at Canal Walk. You could hear they hadn't pre-screened it - the audio was TOTALLY out of whack, to the point that we couldn't hear half the dialogue. I was improvising in my head whilst trying desperately to lip-read. It's one HELLUVA move all the same, but just be warned that you need to ensure that the sound is sorted.

That's what we were saying afterwards... We both recognised the style of the track in places, but like the voice audio it was totally out of whack. Treble too high, midrange too low, no bass and no feeling. It was like an assault on the ears, and the whole performance was lost.

It was really disappointing, and I had a feeling of wanting to see it again but at home, where I could control the audio channels and get a proper experience, only 1 1/2 metres away from my PDP and my AV system giving it horns, like I felt it deserved.
