Apparently you can pick up LM out in the far east (Springs and Nigel). Some guy has a serious antenna and rebroadcasts it

Listening to it on 49 meter band on Short Wave radio from LM. Used to in the evenings change to Medium Wave, forgotten the MB though.

Brilliant radio station, the only one at that stage playing decent music, all the SABC offerings were *** and Government controlled not to corrupt the youth with Communistic and from the devil music offerings.

I bow to the superior memories of you guys.

Thanks, it's been bugging me a little (in other words, it didn't bother me enough to try find out the answer myself :P )

Shows how much I watched, or was allowed to watch - never even heard of Mirage.

Gerald, if my memory serves me, it was actually on at some obscure day and hour, like Saturday after the rugby before the news

Share ESP (awesome just to walking into the sunshine) Hideout (the wendy hut entrance) and there was Nexus ( slippery when wet).

Some weird goings on at Hideout. I remember sitting around a bonfire there with a large 'cigarette' being passed around. Some creep came along trying to bum some Ront, the one dude stood up and chooned the greezer - 'You know what, I'm gonna get cane rat f--ked and you aren't, you know why, because YOU haven't got any MONEY!'. Man, I laughed...

Well....if you follow the shaving thread, you'll realise that these old razors are the best way to go and cost an arm and a leg these days.

Nice collection there!!

There is little question that if I attempted to use one of those old razors, I'd be lucky if it only cost an arm and a leg.

When I bought hubby a safety razor he thought the same.... 2 shaves and you'll have it.. you just have to get used to shaving at the right angle and to use the weight of the razor to do the shaving.. treat yourself and get the pre shave lotion[emoji12]

Isn't it funny how the word safety became attached to things! Like matches. And even bicycles, once they'd moved beyond penny farthings...

Reminded me of a T-shirt I saw a pic of once: "Remember when sex was safe, and motor racing was dangerous?"

Googled that to find a pic, and came across this...

Whether TT motorcycling on the treacherous Isle of Man circuit, Formula 1 Motor racing or off-road driving on rough African courses, the South African Paddy Driver was at the top of his field and spent 43 years driving and competing in the most difficult and challenging world motor racing events. This is his often humourous account of those years in which the camaraderie of the life he and his fellow competitors led played a major role in their successes. Constantly moving from one competition venue to the next in a variety of countries and continents, they lived in makeshift caravans and mobile homes which they towed with them and shared with their competition vehicles. At the pinnacle of this fast-moving and dangerous existence, with more than his fair share of lucky escapes, Paddy shares his friendships with some of the most notable names in racing history such as Jackie Stewart, Mike Hailward, and John Surtees. He explores the fun and exhilaration, the risks and casualties, the achievements, failures and successes of competing in such a hard-hitting world.

Steak, egg and strips at the Kilarney Hotel in Durbs

When you ducked down to Durbs for a quick weekend with your mates and arrived there in time for Friday pub lunch.

There was always some guy down "on pass" with his mates who would end up on stage covered in glitter, baby oil and shaving cream.

Once saw a "Plus" sized stripper there. Took this poor little army boy from Pretoria and sat on him on stage then proceeded to bounce all over his bones.

He was probably scarred for life.
