Where Giants Roam...post'em

I was very fortunate that my LBS managed to secure a 2016 Anthem frame for me.  I did not realize that the mediums were so difficult to obtain.  Can't wait to take her for a ride, but the wheels will take me a few days to build, in between family commitments.

Why clamp the frame and not the seatpost?

Looks like the Chris Willemse one. Works ok for general tinkering but certainly not solid like the Park Tools stands. Bugvyhen again it's s fraction of the price. Happy with mine so far but don't think it would hold my XL Anthem to well on the seat post.

Hi thanks.  It is the Chris Willemse stand.  Probably not the sturdiest stand but at R450 on special, I can't really fault it.  For home use it is perfect.

I find that clamping lightly on the top tube holds the bike quite securely and I can swivel it into the position I want.

Thanks. Sorry for the tangent. It's just that the park tool and similar are quite pricey so was interested in what the cheaper versions were like.

Then bought a 2011 Advanced from a fellow Hubber and converted from the original 105 10 speed to 105 5800. Still own this one though, very racy steed.

Weighing in right now at 7.8kg

Mongoose we need pictures of your steed out in the wild.... come on...

On another note, I spent some time speaking to a carbon specialist about two weeks ago. He was buying the Lefty from me that I had advertised on the Hub. He repairs carbon frames every day of his life. He confirmed that Giant frames are some of  the best that you can get and he sees everything come through his shop. He says the carbon lay ups and materials are superior to almost everything else. He told me not to change brands if I was staying with carbon as my material of choice. He had no idea that I ride an Anthem Adv.  Feels good to hear that from an impartial engineer. I am tired of being told that I ride the "Toyota Corolla" of bicycles.
