so if the product does not work why would you use it at the cape epic?

I'm specifically taking about the muscle builder weight loss cr@p they (and others) sell. sure the energy stuff probably contains loads of carbs and some other stuff so does provide some energy, but proper food would do the same at a 1/10th of the price.

All I know, there is a lovely black Range Rover in Stellenbosch with USN branding... Dont know what he's selling, but it buys nice toys.

On another note, when does food / supplements fall under the medical boards review? Believe the review system when something is regarded as medicinal is way more strict; should supplements not be grouped there? As its not food. Just asking

Not for/against USN, but are you qualified to make that statement?

Are you a chemist, sports nutritionist, doctor or an expert in supplements?

Everyone is quick to make a statement, but how many really know what they're talking about.....

Damn right.

People are quick to make statements these days, USN are particularly good at making statements on their advertising and packaging.

Are we not all bull shitters?

Just think where you are today.  Do you do everything you said you can do?  Do you work every moment of the day as you are suppose to?  And yet we are getting paid for what we do and what we are not doing?

So maybe Albe saw a gap and took it.  Just one question.  Would the guys in the UK and Holland not test his product.  Will he launch in the US and get FDA approval for the brand?

Maybe the products work, maybe it does not work.  Some people trust Herbal death and some like me landed in the hospital thanks to their products.  The one product I have of USN - Vita something works for me.  If I am dead on the bike it gives me a little boost.  Is it placebo?  That I would not know.

But again, we have 3 sides to every story.  And thing is I know Albe trusts and uses his own products.  So will a person selling snake oil use his own product?

...if I remember correctly, we had this "discussion" not too long ago about Cadence Nutrition as well...

Guess the Hub Experts will bring USN to justice.

...moving along.

Most supplements will work in combination with a balanced diet and training programme, but not to the level supplement companies would like you to believe. Those claims of 300% greater muscle growth, 200% greater fat loss etc. are a distortion of the studies they quote. If one group in a study gained 0.5kg muscle in 12 weeks, and another group using a supplement gained 1.5kg, they'll then claim "300% greater gains" or "3X more muscle". USN, in particular, have a reputation for being deceitful and misleading with their product labelling,eg. their protein shakes, where they list protein quantity per 2 servings, but fat/carb content per single serving.

Very much like I struggle to understand that a copper band on your wrist can do so much wonders.

It is incontrovertibly true that a yellow rubber band on you wrist will make you look like an idiot.

Oh, and there was a time it could cure cancer too.....

I hate the position USN puts me in. A few (a small few) of their products are quite good and I like using them: the toothpaste tube vooma gels, the new purefit carb drink, but a lot of them are just ridiculous.

he first time I found out they did their own "PowerBalance" band I had the same reaction to boycott them. Now I just try to ignore all the marketing nonsense and focus on the individual products.

I really wish they'd tone down the marketing though. Calling a combination of glucose, sucrose and fructose a "3-Stage Glycomatrix carbohydrate drink" is just silly!

but it (marketing) works - people buy tap water (sometimes with flavour) in plastic bottles all the time ....
