Lol, talk about a storm in a tea cup.

I don't think Anythingbut's suggestions that brought on carbon29ers rant was uncalled for or out of order but then again sometimes it's hard to tell if carbon29er is trolling or not. Can't you filter the classifieds to exclude dealers?

As Anythingbut mentioned, I wonder if Bike Market does pay his fees to Admin as a dealer selling in the classifieds?

Saw the other day Bike Market had 3 pages of complete bikes for sale, a good R100k or 2's worth at the listed selling prices.

the mention of that name makes my blood bubble, boil and toil. cant stand opening the classifieds and find 2 pages of them! and knowing the history, I do not want to buy a bike from them. Although if they gift me a bike, I will take it.

But okes, please put your ego's back in the box, please please please.

Take the information Carbon29er has imparted and ignore how he's decided to impart this information. Bear in mind the hub is a business, you are part of the product, so is are the businessees that pay to advertise. If you remember that maybe next time you can just sigh, and click through the paid for adverts.

P.S terms like moffietown -really unwarranted.

Not trying to start *** but I can't believe that any repeated adverts can possibly annoy the Sh*t out of so many people. It must take about 2 - 4 secs to scan a page and click the next. There are  also filters. It's not like they have robbed you of a hour of your life. Seriously, if the ad doesn't appeal too you move on it's not exactly a major hardship. What were you planning on doing with that 2 seconds? Solve the current carnage on our roads?

It's a free resource, it's open to everyone. Really are we actually getting a hissy fit over and over again happening because we see adverts on a free site, that 99% of people don't contribute financially to and the advertisers of these *many* adverts have probably boosted through a couple of the monitiezed solutions that The Hub adds for revenue?

Honestly I love this site, have had great conversations, met good people, solved problems from advice, bantered and honestly given for nothing for that but sometime the baaahing of the righteously indignant about the smallest issue is beyond a joke.

If I recall correctly, the issue that started this thread was bikes being bought by a dealer/shop that re-advertise the very same bikes at inflated prices.

I did attempt to give a constructive suggestion which was ridiculed - again.

The possibility of charging dealers/shops to advertise should at no time result in us, the general user, be charged for accessing The Hub. It might only encourage responsible advertising from said dealers/shops which in turn protects the end-user (us).

(Unfortunately I cannot sit back, keep my trap shut whilst being told off and ridiculed on a public forum. For that I do apologise)

I too love this site.

I thought I was giving a constructive suggestion. If it was such a shitty one, then carbonguy could have explained it to me.

Accessing The Hub classifieds from a phone does not give you any filters other than viewing the various subsections (no dealer/shop filter..)

Ok, let me try again - based on the highlighted bit below

It's not a possibility - it's a fact. Current site sponsors / advertisers / and the occasional paid for bumped advert is paid for. That is one of the ways the hub makes money. The guys work their arses off not just for the love of cycling, they need to pay the bills (and buy bike bits too).

there's no point allowing to filter out advertisers / or paid posts - because they annoy you. The reason these people pay for adverts is because they have a captive market in you and me. If the site allowed you to filter this out - then there is no return on investment for the advertisers, they stop advertising, the hub stops making money, they either have to shut up shop - or start charging. Tell me you get that - even as frustrating as it might be.

Thank you. Yes, I do get that.

Dit is voor die handliggend... (in english obviaaasly ????)

I was suggesting an additional paid-for-by-dealers/shops subsection for dealers/shops within the classifieds section

I did not suggest filtering exsisting paying advertisers. I proposed an additional revenue for the hub guys that might end in responsible behaviour from dealers/shops.

And if Bike Market and the others are already paying, please inform me and subsequently ignore my ignorence

As I said in my very first reply to you ALL DEALERS PAY for EVERY advert place on the hub. Every single advert.

As I also said, that is how the hub pays the bills.

As I also said, this has been discussed in the thread,

As I also said you would know IF YOU BOTHERED to ACTUALLY READ the thread.

Then I was called drunk and product of mr zipper zoompie's educational system, whatever that is.

Remember?
