Fisan Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 Oh goodluck Rick. After a successful Tor Des Geants this year, I'm sure this will be a breeze. Sort of. Maybe not.

Even though i don't have a round face, its allows you to easily put them back on over your helmet straps while riding. Then lenses are wide enough to block wind and the narrow arms allow for plenty cooling as not to fog up. On the run i don't notice them on my face, even when needing to wipe sweat from my brow it can easily be done without have to remove them. I was always an Oakley fan but after i bought these i wont go back. BUT, there is a reason there are so many variety's on the market, not everyone likes the same things. Best bet is to fit them on and them make a decision. Because Glasses are a 5 - 10year investment at modern day prices, I intentionally went for a 5km run to the mall and was all hot and bothered by the time i entered the store to fit them so i could get a sense of how they would fit and whether or not they would bug my in the heat of the moment. Disclaimer: I did get plenty funny looks though. Blast from the past, I have Rudy Project glases and looking for new lenses. I bougth them from AGS a few years back but I see they have closed. Any idea where I can buy just these lenses ? Any place stock them or do most places need to order them in ? Thanks

The Race director is a local. Friend of mine. He has been spending a lot of time in the mountains there this year. And he knows how to host an event. ScottCM 1

Looks legitimate. Looks like it's hosted by a (German) startup that sells bespoke.... salt. So make with that what you will.

I'm all for guerilla events, but not taking money and sending people on main road. it is a Sunday at least, and the milkwood half should be wrapped up by the time they get there too. I'm interested in the "hosted cafe checkpoint" they have negotiated at Cape point in particular.

ChrisF Posted January 12 Posted January 12 2025 was my first full year of trail running (rather speed walking), so no expectations, just gradually working away at improving my times. Still many sessions with the biokineticist and steadily working on rebuilding what was lost in 16 years of inactivity ..... TOP TIP - DONT be inactive for extended periods .... Back to "goals" ... I managed to do all the trail run events of our club last year (except one that clashed with a cycling event) Got nudged into doing my first half marathon - Rhodes, aka Safari. Promptly entered and did the Gun Run half marathon as well. Trail run progress .... January 2025 to January 2026 ... shaved 25 seconds of my pace, and fresher at the end Very modest compared to the serious runners, but a good year for somebody that did a first 5km in 2024. dave303e Posted January 13 Posted January 13 last year was not a running year for me, I only ran 300km all year. I did do just under 600 hours on the bike so it was still a good year for fitness. I have been enjoying an off season since Sept by just ticking along, training as and when I feel like it, doing a lot of strength work. Started running again now the last 2 weeks. I have a 100 miler entry, still not feeling overly committed but will build up to it slowly. I want to break 600 hours of exercise this year just to see it is possible for an amateur. Zama7 Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Yeah don't have much time with work and family this year so going to swap long runs and try get some 5km and 10km PB's. Goal is to try break the walking world records. 5km - 17:55 10km - 37:11 (Going to be a tough ask) Anyone have tips for increasing speed, definately also going to hit the gym and build some muscle and hopefully avoid injury. Good luck. How many pairs,of sneakers do you go through in a year? only goal I had for 2025 was to complete a 100km event. Injuries and a diabolical 40 degree temperature on the day put paid to that but still managed 2 ultras in 2025 which is 2 more than I did in 2024 due to serious foot injuries so that’s a step up. For 2026: complete the 100km trail run in whatever time I would also like to run 1800km in total which I think is doable so long the foot behaves. And maybe one more Ironman ( Barcelona) As for time, being wrong side of 60 for running I don’t put to much emphasis on time anymore those days are long gone ScottCM and Zama7 2
