Yea, I forgot the 15/25% is based on the R4000. My point remains all the same, spend the R425 and you can increase your cash backs to R400 + any extras for a year.

Both husband and wife need to do the fitness test before the discount moves from 15% to 25%, so it’s R850.

If you run in the suburbs you dont need a light.

So of course Im following my own great advice. Its already pitch dark in the mornings, with broken streetlights all over the place. This morning I stepped into a pothole and twisted my ankle. Just ran it off and it feels okay now, but could have been worse.

So maybe not such a bad idea to run with lights.

Anyone using any of the Strava add-ons .. I'm particularly interested in the analysis addon. Does it give your anything more than something like smashrun gives you?

Have a look at the elevate app

Use to be cycling only but they've "upped" their game running wise

I use stravastix. I'll have a look at the latest version since the name change. Smashrun in my opinion is better though. The reason why I'm keen on the summit stuff is because then it's all integrated in the app... But if I'm just getting the same info as elevate or smashrun.... Then it's not really worth it I guess

Following on from the litter issue at races, I bought this 500ml bottle at the same time I got my shoes. Took it with on the 5Km trot yesterday and it wasn’t that bad to lug around. I probably won’t use it at the 10km races as I don’t usually drink anything for an hour’s workout. But for a HM, I’ll happily stop at a water point to get a refill.

I laughed this morning. Was the first time I took my headlamp with me.

Every single streetlight was on. Every single garden spotlight, garage beam, every bedroom facing the road - had their lights burning bright. It was like running in daylight.

I use the 500ml on my long runs, its very comfortable, after a while you don't notice it. If it starts getting empty just blow some air into it.

Have been struggling with my lower back and hip the last 7 weeks since my marathon disasters - made the trip to a Chiro yesterday (my first visit ever) and it's hard to explain how much better I feel after just one session... my alignment was pretty badly out, but he's managed to get things pretty much back on track... even went for a run yesterday afternoon and was pain free for the first time in ages - what a pleasure. Got a few more sessions lined up just to make sure things stay on track, but hopefully can kick on and do some actual training now.

Got a little race to qualify for

Word of caution:

Council busy digging trenches in Meadowridge, CPT. They cover the trenches with orange netting instead of placing the netting upright on either side.

Fell into one last night.

Very sore ankle, glad it wasn't worse. You can only claim from the city if you have damages... Wish they weren't so careless, if an elderly person fell into the trench???
