Pulse Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 I train with some dedicated, talented runners and I can see how hard they have train to maintain sub 90min 21km timesAnd that includes longer weekend runsAgree. This guy is overestimating the fitness transfer he would get from his cycling, and underestimating how hard running can actually be
Mudsimus Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 If he can run a sub 75min with 6 weeks of training he should give up cycling immediately.
Craai Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Comrades runners have you seen the warning regarding the road narrowing at 45th cutting...please be careful!!Sounda like a good excuse to work another walk in
Mudsimus Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Sounda like a good excuse to work another walk inThey widened the road last night. Sorry.
Stretch Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Like I said in that other thread..Ferrets PB is a 76. That chap is actually just being disrespectful to the sport by even saying that Rowl, Lexx and Andrew Steer 3
Mudsimus Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Like I said in that other thread..Ferrets PB is a 76. That chap is actually just being disrespectful to the sport by even saying thatI ran 3 years and 5000km before I broke 1h40. If he breaks 1h15 I will become a vegan. Hacc, Stretch, L46 and 3 others 6
Ronniek Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Good luck to all Hubbers running tomorrow. God willing I’ll be joining you on the start line next year. Lexx and Jaws677 2
Jaws677 Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 I ran 3 years and 5000km before I broke 1h40. If he breaks 1h15 I will become a vegan.I'll join you in the challenges . I'll also go vegan if he does it . Lexx 1
Breezer Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 I ran 3 years and 5000km before I broke 1h40. If he breaks 1h15 I will become a vegan.Nah, on 11km he will realize that he had to much coffee and quit. Andrew Steer, Rowl, Eldron and 2 others 5
Rowl Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 For better (giving us a laugh) or worse (giving us a bad name), can this guy be banned from the Hub? That aside, all the best to everyone running tomorrow!
Gr3mlin131 Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Can a noob runner run a 1h15 half marathon in 6 weeks. Go.. http://www.vanzweelism.com/index.php/2019/05/22/can-a-noob-runner-do-a-sub-75-minute-half-marathon-in-6-weeks/?fbclid=IwAR0svHg1upqNXO0L5UpWgwkXHcJHIbPPEkqmlee9okb6ne5nAwS-chjHZFo He just needs to be sure he has the right gearing this time. Also all those doing the Comrades, go smash it. Rowl 1
DJuice Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 Doing the 21.1km in sub 90min that would be an achievement. The wheels are going to come off if he sets out on sub 75min pace and lucky to go sub 1:45-1:50.Sure the running day will not come, either shins or ITB will have him before the big day. Enjoy Comrades!
Lexx Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 It seems some top runners won't be doing Comrades.. SAIDS have been having a big sweep on testing and it appears we are in double figures who have now been suspended! Let's see who doesn't start Comrades as no names released until after the disciplinary process.Dude, all the big names are at the start list. Doesnt look like SAIDS did the testing Andrew Steer 1
