travisza Posted February 7, 2020 Share Anybody here run with Brooks Cascadia's? They seem to catch my eye more and more of late.OK so two short runs completed. Both around 1hr / 10kms. Ran up to the block house and then along the contour path a bit and then ran in Mont Rochelle Reserve in Franschhoek. Mont Rochelle is very Rocky with steep ascents and descents. I have no real frame of reference but... Grip was great. Never felt like I had an issue. Soles offered good protection, I never felt any sharp rocks while running. Felt pretty stable coming down although I am very slow descending. All in all very happy with the Brooke's so far

Haven't finished reading RT's article, but I did notice he put a fairly clear disclaimer/ conflict of interest statement at the end of it all: Disclaimer/conflict of interest statement: Since 2009, adidas SA has sponsored a local road race called Two Oceans, and I wrote training programmes for the public for that event on their behalf. I also provided running training and physiology advice to clubs and at workshops sponsored by adidas SA. I had no involvement with the global parent company on shoe development or sales, and at my request, a contract clause that stipulated that I did not comment on or promote their shoes. If that leads you to dismiss the above arguments, that’s your prerogative, though I’d argue that the criticism here is not of Nike, who in fact are acknowledged for making an amazing shoe, but of the policy that allowed it. Your call on interpretation.

Jackes Posted February 7, 2020 Share All in all very happy with the Brooke's so far Thanks for the feedback, please do so long term again. The cascadia and peregrine (especially the 10's according to reviews) keeps on bugging me to try them...

Personal opinion, but I love mu Peregrines. Used them since the 5, skipped a couple of numbers. Really suits my foot well, so not even contemplating anything else. The fact that I prefer Saucony as road shoes also helps. 4mm drop (or less) works for me. Running in stuff with higher drop for those shoe eating routine runs - and now starting to get some niggles.
