More and more effort, for less and less reward.

Let me see, walk less than 1km to the PnP, or drive 30km to the Checkers so I can maybe save a few cents but only if I spend enough.

The only thing that still seems worth much, for now, is using the Nike discount combined with Sportmans' Yellow Ticket sale. Assuming they work for you - I got used to them after initial arch discomfort, my wife went back to NB.

well I've just joined Disco at the new work. I will investigate Vitality again and see if it will work for me.

I'm not prepared to move my entire financial life to them just yet (if ever), so my guess is it wont be worth it. But I'll do the number anyway.

People complain every time but I get so much back honestly.

Even this year, they’ve introduced personal health pathways and are giving you money if you do certain things. Between me and my wife the’ve given me R 7,000 back already to use for medications or consultations. I don’t have an MSA but it’s almost like I do now.

The only thing my wife was asked to do was visit the dentist for a check up. I’ve had to nothing.

Agree with the health checks, waste of time and effort. The last time I would've met the BMI index would've been 24 years ago when I trained for Comrades. When I look at the photo's of that time I was "skin & bone" but very fit. Fast forward to today I'm also very fit but slightly heavier but happy with my weight and also the blood pressure measurements are not in line.

Last year went for my checks and my blood pressure was slightly above their range and also my weight. My wife on the other hand is on blood pressure medication and her measurements were also slightly higher...

The only reason I'm still on vitality is my life assurance is linked to vitality and the benefits especially the premiums can not be matched. I asked a friend in the insurance industry to look at my benefits and premiums as I wanted to boot vitality. He came back informing me that he could not find something similar for the premium, same benefits the premium would've increased more than the vitality premium, so I'm stuck with Vitality for now.

Uhmmm ... just for clarity

Are these the "health checks" (term has changed a bit over the years) as part of the MEDICAL AID you are referring to ?

ALL Discovery Health medical aid members get this benefit - IF they decide to use it.  Only frustrating part is that you have to READ their documents and actually activate these benefits .... shame on me for not doing this last year.

Had some blood work done last week, one of the items was on the "health check" list and was paid by Discovery Health.

This is NOT dependent on Vitality membership.

Discovery Medical aid is actually a pretty decent medical aid.

The complains on this thread is typically about the moving goal posts of Vitality.
