Would be interesting to know if/how many times the "no needles" rule was broken in the heat. The best medical method is a post stage drip but "no needles" means no needles. Any participants see drips in the med bay??

I stand to be mistaken, BUT the way I have read it in the past, you may use needles for medical reasons, but NOT for the likes of vitamins, gogo juice, crack and any recreational stuff etc etc. The ruling was put on that thread where some dude blows the whistle on Team Sky.

Is the''No Needles "policy only applicable if there is no doctor to authorise .

I would hate for a rider to be denied a drip , on doctors orders , and then either have to withdraw or suffer serious effects the next day .

Surely different rules need to be applied for the majority who are just trying to finish , vs those racing for top results ??

Biggest climb of the day coming up

The UFO climb

Steady

With lots of cement segments

Fireworks alert amongst the leading bunch

The Zig Zag climb

That'll warm me up

That's gonna HURT.

Oh, ja. And they're all pussies. 60km in 40plus degrees is a walk in the park... Organ failure, schmorgan failure... HTFU.

Yeah, right. Anyone who does that, in that heat, deserves respect for the sheer willpower that it requires to carry on pedalling.

Strikes me that whilst people may be getting adequate hydration, are they getting adequate electrolyte supplementation? They must be secreting enormous amounts of sodium  / potassium / mag etc. May be worthwhile for some to get salt tabs just to replace the stuff they lose on such hot and long efforts.

Are they not aware that they are commentating on delayed pictures?

The live feed says Spez are attacking and pulling away, while they are commentating on delayed "live" pictures from some time ago.

Or is my Internet just too slow? :-P

ok my bad, then. Was out of town all weekend, doing amongst other things, riding my bike. I searched everything from SS4-SS9. The supersport tv-guide is so blerrie useless you have to search channel by channel. I have never seen cycling on SS2 before. You're welcome to call me a poephol for not undertanding how DSTV schedules their programs, but remember they have a long history of treating the TV-Guide as nothing more than a rough guide of what could possibly be on the channel at that time. Plenty of times have tried recording something but the actual broadcast channel changes

Are u seriously complaining because CE does not have the DSTV CE schedule on its website?

Did u try look on DSTV schedule?
If DSTV don't have it on their own schedule then......

Subscribe to the CE daily email and follow the various links to daily coverage..... QED

ja I am. they've got Algeria, Belgium, Tunisia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Portugal but not South Africa.

Christo is the Brand Manager for the Cape Epic, and a keen Hubber. I don't envy him having to talk on TV, I'd be nervous as anything! Give him a chance, he's got some great insights.
