The I love my LBS thread

I love my LBS because yesterday I took my Merida in to have a few things done and it was discovered that my rear axle is broken.

The replacement part isn't available and is on back order - lead time of about 3 weeks. I arrived to pick up the bike  to hear this news and there was a loaner wheel of better quality already installed on the bike with the instruction to ride it as if it was mine and we swop the wheels back when the replacement axle arrives.

I spend a fair amount of money in this shop and this kind of service and attitude makes me feel my spend is valued.

Gave my LBS a couple of freshly trawled boxes of prawns and since then they go out of their way to assist me.

Told them I love my bikes more than prawns.

This sounds like the work of a certain lbs across the road from n' hoerskool.

I love my LBS because they ALWAYS go the extra mile for me.

Always prepared to help.

They treat me like family

( and it's not because of how much money I spend with them, which isn't a lot ...I'm tighter than a photo finish)

This post would read like an essay if I'd to list everything they've ever done for me.

I get hugs too, in both human and canine form.

Lots of laughs, lots of smiles.

Guys this thread is adorable but helpless if you don't tell me the name of the LBS that you love!

CycleHQ East London.

c/o Old Transkei and Beach Road.

I have built a relationship with the guys at Cycle Teknix over a number of years now, and Hanber and his crew have always gone the extra mile. With a smile. (But the cracked frame April Fool's joke was too much... ???? ???? ???? ????)

Geco Cycles

I sit there on their bar type Park Tool chairs like Norm from Cheers.

Customer comes in with buckled wheel still attached to his MTB

Owner asked 'what happened?'

Customer says with huge frustration 'I rode like a dwis'

We all cracked ourselves ????????

Just another day at my LBS

I love my LBS because I always pop in there to tighten, loosen, pump, change something quickly while I'm on a ride and they always just do it with a smile.

Big ups Gear change

so it seems you need to 'build a relationship' with your LBS to get decent service. Otherwise you get ignored like a stop sign.

yes 'certain LBS in Sunningdale area', I'm still waiting for the promised call back to let me know about the ESI's I wanted. Two weeks and tick-tock-tick-tock...

oops, it's not Friday yet.
