still wondering if I should pull the trigger on this 12 speed stuff or should I wait a few months for them 13 speed...

or go buy A pinion gearbox and belt drive ....18 gears 800% range

I have wet dreams about bikes with gearboxes

When ever I read these releases on new products I get the impression that the marketing department are trying to make the consumer believe that he/she will be instantly transported to a higher level on the new technology. When all is said and done the pedals still need to be turned, regardless of the tech behind the drive train.

How much easier will a 3K cassette make the hill compared to my 9 speed XT cassette?

A LOT

BUT you still need to pedal so it all comes down to the rider .... I have been in my granny many times when A "Oom" comes past on his single speed....rider , rider , rider

It seems that nobody can launch anything these days that attracts positive commentary.

Shame, life must be ***.

this was a fun launch

Since my new bike came with Eagle XX, I am pretty chuffed to now have access to a NZ$250 cassette, far nicer than the $750 XX one! Not that I have been doing any riding, so my cassette is shiny and new still.

Don't ride it, you got to keep that looking prime for all the instagram posts you're going to put out. :)

Like @Patchelicious I am also in the camp of loving all the choices, to each his own I reckon!

Ride what you want you really don't have to justify it to anyone here or elsewhere (besides your wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/partner I guess)

To me this is a bloody marvellous option.

Definitely ordering this puppy....time to go 12 with a bigger chain ring up front.

Love your work Sram!!

Next thing you know, some clever guy will come up the a clever way to run muliple chain rings to give us a big gear ratio and not have to worry about swapping out chain rings before every event.

^^^^ this is why I dont get 1 x 11, unless you want a reason to have discusions on the Hub about what size chainring to run.

1 x 12 now whis is something I would be interested in, but maybe when the cheaper XT version arrives one day

Is is Friday yet

I wonder how much negativity Shimano would get if they launched their own 12x casette - I dont see much hating on the 'shimano ultegra R9000' forum

And the R9000 is definitely not the price of that groupset
