Mawbs Posted February 1, 2018 Share actually i dont think Holla rates are crazy ...if you buy a year membership then its R 169.00 a month. so even if you only ride weekends both days then you paying R 21.12 a day. if you ride more then obviously you score even better. Bizkit031 Posted February 1, 2018 Share I'm interested to see what riders pay, per annum and per day at various riding venues in South Africa. There seems to be a big difference in what you pay, and what you get for it. Money vs length of trail, trail features etc. What is the norm, and how much is too much?In my experience (KZN):Karkloof:R580 a yearR50 per day. Giba:R960 a yearR65 per day. Holla: R2197 a yearR60 per day Are you serious now,Holla charges R2197 a year to ride in that rubbish up there they must be drunk on all the sugar cane around them. Mawbs Posted February 2, 2018 Share If the trail network was maintained then this would be true, but that's definitely not the case... i think they are maintained pretty well, there is hardly a time when you cant ride ( except for just recently when flash floods wash out some bridges. Robbie Stewart Posted February 2, 2018 Share R600 at Tygerberg - perday varies between 40 and 60 depending on which trail. It's a bargain in my view when you consider how many kilometers of singltrack there are. According to Patrick, our trail builder extraordinaire: Single track 95.29kmDirt Roads 44.19kmTotal Trails 139.48km So, in other words, TOTALLY worthy of an annual membership. Oufy MTB (Roadie) Posted February 2, 2018 Share Bike Park Constantia - R65 a day Took out a family membership for the year. R2000, Me & my 3 boys. Basically got my money back after the 8th visit. I go almost every weekend there so an annual membership is a no brainer.
Robbie Stewart Posted February 2, 2018 Share I think it's a travesty that people have to pay to ride their bikes. You don't have to. It's entirely free to ride your bicycle on a provincial or municipal road. But if I catch you riding on my property without the required permission, i.e. a day pass which is usually paid for, well then. As Mr. Eastwood so eloquently put it: " You feeling lucky, punk?"
