My training has been consistent since mid Nov, and I have clocked up close to 800km since starting in earnest. By the way things are looking now, "race day" will just be another day of "same 'ole, same 'ole".

My training will start tomorrow. This year will be a relax take up the vibe ride.

I'll be skipping it for another 10 years now, as I had my good weather day last year and you don't get two in a row.

Shhhhhhhhh, don't jinx it now

I have to sell my entry if someone is interested. Was super hyped entering for my first Argus, completely forgot my sister's getting married that weekend. Guess the Argus will have to wait another year..

I am struggling to see the connection between you sister getting married and you doing the race?

I got married on a Sunday and raced the satellite classic on the Saturday. Monday hopped on the plane to Mauritius with my bike and Wife. The following Saturday and Sunday I raced a 2 day tour in Mauritius. My wife just chilled on the beach for the few hours I was racing.

You just need to get your priorities straight    :whistling:  ;)  :P  :D

I'm glad I'm reading this properly again now on a big screen with my spectacles on.

Read this earlier this morning, still half asleep, on the phone screen, no spectacles and was thinking, HTF can anyone do 8000km in 2 months?

Hahaha! Racing first and then attending a wedding is completely different!!

I was considering doing both and was 90% sure I will, but my wife stepped in and said I should stop being stupid. I can do both, but I won't enjoy both..

I don't drink much, but after two beers I'm a different person, and that guy can drink! The bar closes at 02:00am, I'm assuming I'll be in a startgroup around 07:00? So should aim to be there at 06:00am. The wedding is up the West Coast, minimum 2h30min drive from Cape Town. That means a quick 1 hour nap to sober up before hitting the road.

That does sound stupid typing it out now. My wife was right..again.

Seriously, just dont drink, and say good  bye around 23h00.  In bed by 23h30.  Up at 5am and go and ride.

I'm just hearing excuses.  :whistling:

Seriously, just do it.  Adult at 100% during the wedding festivities, say your good nights, and then do it.
