Maybe Canyon should just put a sticker on the top tube that says

"dont sit here"

Save themselves and their cuzzies a bit of hassle wot.

Like those “careful HOT” sticker that McDonald's needs to put on coffee?

The centrifugal forces will still keep your bike going in a straight line.  I'm not saying your should try to do corners at 90km/h in the ST but going down a straight road is really not that big a deal.  And going from the ST to normal standing position is probably about 0.5sec.  Hence me saying, not that big a deal.

I'm so confused about whether you're joking or not... I really hope you are. You are probably close(ish) to correct though if you have a perfectly manicured piece of tarmac without another road user in sight. The OP is worried that he will get dropped by his 1 level below pro racing group if he doesn't assume the position - when just one other 1 level below pro rider happens to swerve/brake/puncture/blow their nose unexpectedly in front of you, you are going to be in serious trouble very quickly.

Hopefully the OP contacts the other prospective suppliers in advance (Cannondale was one mentioned) and confirms that they will warranty a frame under similar circumstances. That should resolve this very long debate very quickly - if they will cover a similar claim then Canyon is clearly not offering a competitive warranty.

'Say no to crack' takes on multiple cycling meanings.

Bike mag headlines read:

" can a crack cause a crack?"

But I doubt other manufacturers will be keen to get involved in this debate in case they inspire a lot of 100 kilo race snakes that will now reckon its ok to Froom it down the local skateboard hill on their carbon frames.

This debate doesnt affect me due to the fact that I am way too slow to worry about shaving milliseconds off my 947 time, thats why I focus on the really important issues like sock length and saddle bags etc.

Next range of Canyon bikes should have "No Sit" markings like aircraft wings have "No Step" markings.

Button, thanks for the thread I’m pretty sure it has enlightened a lot of us ????

Have you decided on a new bike ( sorry if I missed it earlier)

I had a dream too!

Wonderwoman broke my top tube.

No warranty replacement. Worth it

I think we all have that dream from time to time. My favourite is the one where supergirl cleans up

enjoy riding your bikes this weekend, except OP who has a broken top tube...

and remember:

first rule of super tuck is: we do not talk about super tuck.

the second rule of super tuck is: WE DO NOT TALK ABOUT SUPER TUCK.

...adds pinch of friday salt

How much weight actually is on the top tube when in the super tuck though?

I am guessing Rory is not un-cleating, so still a fair amount of weight is on the pedals?

Has Rory decided on a new bike yet??
