I purchased mine from Makro the day the deal was launched in October last year. I got it to replace my 7 year old Cannondale that I used for commuting to work and back. It's now done about 3000km and I have not had one single issue with it. Admittedly it's not subjected to any rough riding, but only for commuting. Still original tyres and brake pads.

I'm still very happy with my purchase.

As far what most people indicated that the frame was actually not that bad.

Just make sure if you are not capable working on a bike, you pay an LBS to look over the bike.

A quick point of reference being the front brake housing on the outside of the leg vs on the inside

I bought my wife one and subsequently upgraded almost everything on it. It was great value at the original selling price which as R4500 at makro. I would never pay R8500 for the stock bike. This is hers now. PS: it has don2 2x CTCT, the worst K2C in history and a few other 50-75km rides in between....and it hasn't fallen apart yet lol.

I think it has been since that pic for obvious reasons but If i remember right the cable guides on the front of that cheapo fork are conducive to the routing being like that.
Anyway, at least you are starting to warm up to the left-lever-front brake idea. You didn't even mention that! Haha

Go make sure it is fixed man .... your wife will surely be grateful.

Left-Lever-Front brake ........... let's just say that I am an open minded person that is willing to accept others even if they are wrong!
