So for those who wish to enter for next year at this year's price...check your email.

But let's see if they do the black-friday thing!!

Also just saw my email now but also waiting for Black Friday just in case.

I appear to have a very short term memory as on Sunday night when I was knackered I was muttering never again....

After last year I said never again...

This year while riding home I had numerous discussions with myself around never again...

Today I was discussing training plans with all the guys I ride with to see how I could do the sub 3 thing with a possible trip to our southern region for the Argus next year.

I wonder what first world ailment I could attribute these stupid decisions to.

Just an interesting note to make... seems like a lot of riders love the reverse route, including myself. With all the good being put into organising the race and all the smooth flowing of the event WHY is there still a steady decline in the number of finishers on racetec? Has the number of entrants also decreased? I will post my opinion in the comments below...

For a mass participation event - the current route is too tough. Fine with the Argus where the riders have great views, great features and generally more social rider attractions, plus it has long uphill and then rewarding downhill sections.

The 947 has too many shorter sharp climbs for the average riders not fit enough. If they cut out about 400 meters climbing, the event would be more popular.. IMHO

Personally I like the route (except for the 'urban' concrete jungle and generally messy un-

attractive JHB, the heat and humidity, and starting too late in the mornings - Argus starts in the Dark - but in-spite of the early JHB sunrise, the 947 riders already sweating in start blocks before official start)

I have done all 24 races (just saying before I also get shot down for having an opinion  )

I use a GoPro Hero 7 Silver for the video footage and then overlay the data from the Garmin Edge 520 GPX file, using Garmin VIRB Edit software.

What I am interested in, how big is a 4hr file? How does your battery last 4hrs?

How long does that take to export, presuming you imported, overlayed and then exported?

How long does it take to upload to the tube?  Looks like you shot in 1080p 30fps?

Sorry but I could never watch a 3h44min youtube video, it was hard enough trying to remember what I wanted to ask you ;)

I tried to keep it short n sweet...

Its from a previous race but still chuckle when I see it

I remember that sign, but was it that far to go? I used to think Witkoppen rd was around halfway.

its tough, but if you recall back I think it was even tougher before in the early days before we started riding clockwise around Jhb.

Organizers are in possession of a 810 that was also lost in the Malibongwe area.

Get in touch with them on FB or on email. Lady by the name of Wewe has sent me this info.

I have the same problem, I also say never again. But I don't believe that I will be lining up in 2020 . It is like what Max says. To me the amount of climbing is a little excessive - I know the average for Gauteng is 100m of climbing for every 10km and this is after all a race that needs to be harder than the average.

But, with that being said: If you want to have a lot of climbing and make it challenging then also ensure that there's a balance - some longer recovery sections. I told a friend after the race that on the race I felt like I was only going at two speeds: Moer fast & Moer slow. The wind on the highway did not help either

Yeah, have been wondering about how they count - I got a 23yr Club gift at registration - i.e. before actually riding the event - so assumed I had already done 23 and 2019 was the 24th (?)

Further, the board with the names on had it as 23 club - so that tells me its the 24th event in 2019 (?)

(Unfortunately it appears they did not keep all the rider times in the early days due to sponsor and event changes, so can't check.)
