And back to the racing, heavy rain and miserable, raincoats on.... not many smiles, still 147.5kms to go

Astana is probably planning their next descent attack...

Lets hope things don't turn into an ice rink again.

Fascinating.

During today's stage, an interview with Bernal, two things, he says they are going to keep a close eye on Alaphillippe this year, and the interviewer brings up La Vie Claire in the context of the colour of Bernal's sunglasses. Epic.

Oh, I watch the USA NBCSN coverage. Nothing like getting frustrated with Phil for the 4th decade in a row.

Just googled La Vie Claire. Seems it is still a health food chain so getting free publicity

In his answer Bernal says, yeah, it's also the colours of the Colombian flag, but he would love to be as great a rider as those guys.

They are racing for jerseys.

Pretty sure this is what happened in the 90's/00's, when doping was a little out of hand. If you want heroic attacks and massive efforts, watch the classics. These guys need to race for 3 weeks at the Tour. If you have ever done a stage race, you know on day 7 after racing over and over each day that seconds earned in the first few stages cost you minutes on the last day.

Its not humanly possible to "go racing" every day without ridiculous doping.

aah the good old days

Ai... will you kindly break the news to him softly that in that case I will need to sub him out of my fantasy team. Was hoping for a serious go at the Green from The Viking.

On the flipside, happy to hear Pogacar has full team support behind him.

I would hold onto him for a bit still but don’t go for it overall.

Can see Ala holding yellow for about 12 days And losing it in the last week like last year. The week is savage and the mountain stages before that will hurt DQS.

So, as a team with a GC contender, this suits you guys, right? DQS have to carry a lot of weight while you can manage your resources better?

if Corona cancels the tour with a Frenchman in the lead, it will be declared a win

If it isn't a Frenchman, result null and void

DQS have a plan, Corona is the new EPO

Tour will go all the way to Paris and be raced full length

You know it is a snooze day out on the road when John has time to come onto the Hub and lay down some inside knowledge of the mechanisation at play.  :P

Think the Peloton is happy for a snoozefest day after all that has happened in 2020 already.

Hahaha. Yes not a lot happening today - it’s taken as a recovery type day before tomorrow’s horror movie.

On another note, where did Yates get the legs from, did he bluff at Dauphine?

Would ask the same then for Ala. remember 1 stage be a Tour is 2 different things.

Dauphine was the hardest race ever for many guys. Many did not expect that pace and aggressiveness.

Tidbit - Dauphine 2020 5 day load was greater than previous 2 years additions over the normal 8 days.

It really was a brutal addition
