Yes well done to TMNP for making that decision.

But cue the greek chorus singing about how the government is stupid and "Stuff them - I'm going up Lion's head" ... and just wait until someone brings up N. Dlamini's arm.

That will just complete the tableau - government is stupid and heavy handed, I'm clever and entitled and the rules don't apply to me.

Hahahahhahahhhahhhahahhaha.

Lekker, laat julle vir julle kry.

Well done on them for doing this.

I'm not in CT so I don't really know where this is in relation to where you all ride in the mountains...

Table Mountain National Park management has made the decision to close the Lion's Head section of Table Mountain with immediate effect, until further notice.

Due to the nature of the trail, recreational activities are no longer permitted in these areas due to none compliance by users in accordance to the Alert Level 3 regulations of the Nationwide Lockdown.

Stuff that I will just go up anyway ????

They won’t take responsibility for it. If they had a predisposition for responsibility, they would wear a mask in the first place.

Don’t expect a different outcome, you will be disappointed.

True.

And I feel for the law abiding ones that can't ride there now. But maybe this is for the best, if we cannot comply with a simple request, then maybe we as society don't deserve the nice stuff.

And yes, I laughed a bit too hard at that. But I really enjoyed the poetic justice of reading earlier about how many people are not complying.

Shall we call them rebels without a course?

Is it closed because hikers and bikers aren't wearing masks ?

So that's no group activities - wear masks - social distancing - 6 to 6

Shjoe I thought you'd run out of steam by now. Even my wife is impressed at long you can moan on the Internet.

If you can't change the behaviour remove yourself from the space of these people you detest so much. Yet you seem to tend to go looking for them so you can pat yourself on the back, rewarding your moral high ground..

lions head was closed because of too many people. So now the crowd will move to the next spot and that will be closed. Its what happens when you don't open all the public spaces as per scientific advice

Have you tried drinking with a mask on?

Too many people, and especially after 6pm.

Using the excuse they could not get down in time because its so busy

I can see plenty of things being closed again due to non compliance.

With the trauma units being packed again on the weekend due to alcohol related incidents it wouldn't surprise me if that gets looked at again too.

Pretty sure all the IG fitfam Lions Head locals will still go up there (much like they still go to Wally's Cave despite all the signs saying it's closed) and keep flouting the rules while doing it.

As soon as 1 or 2 are escorted off in a van the whole Twittergram will explode with Outrage Outrage and Rabble Rabble....

It's the 5%er way!

That's the thing though, openly flouting rules and guidelines will ultimately lead to my privileges being removed. Then I will be angry. I can finally go up the mountain and it is amazing.

The non mask wearers and group riders etc... I will come for you if they close shop because of you
