surely it's up to cops/insurance now then? why post here. the nice fellas who took it from you could be peeing here

The person is pretty well known in Cape Town, he is not going anywhere.

The bike is still in Cape Town.

Reason I posted is people have tried to make contact etc with the person and he has just ghosted them. Now people know that bike is still in Cape Town and he is probably going to try and off load it at a cash crusaders etc. At least its still on people's minds and if someone was to search stolen cannondale supersix cape town, this thread should pop up.

  • 2 months later...

does this mean more to come or still awaiting info?

Chatting to the insurance company as the bike is “theirs” police will only pay the person a visit with the owner of the bike.

It seems the skollies are getting more clued up. But at what point does LeHub become an encyclopedia or wikipedia for thieves out there? Anyone can come here and scope the classifieds anonymously to get an idea of what a bike is worth...or even see if the bike is ‘hot’ as might be the case of the Yeti in another one of these threads. Alot of them are opportunistic sure, but I get the feeling (after my own experience, and getting it back) that there guys instigating these jackings and they have fine taste and know how to price a bike to sell...not for too little, but fast.

Maybe classifieds need to become member only.

Paying members only classifieds perhaps, good idea.
