"For this moment, it is hard to say something... thank you to my teammates... it was a dream of my career... finally... I came here with lot of ambition... it is just a dream day for me... thank you everyone for following me... the confidence that you put in me... my family..."

Julien Alaphillippe, 2020 World Champion, Elite Men

The showman after Peter Sagan, the flair and tenacity to win Milan-San Remo and atop the Piazza del Campo at Strade Bianchi, what a worthy winner. The winning move captured below. Watch Kwia's face in agony.

I heard the commentators saying they just pull off into the pits as they get dropped rather than do another lap

I would have thought there were more than 30 on the last lap.

Lots of chatter in Flemish and Dutch media about Roglic not doing enough for WvA in pulling back Alaphilipe

I couldn't think why he would, but obviously being a team mate at JV it would be some payback for the 3 weeks WvA pulled him around France.

Roglic had no chance of winning in the sprint anyways, so yeah, should have emptied the tank for WVA.

Can't quite agree with that position. It's called the World Championship not the Help your Trade Teamie win a special jersey competition. You're racing for and representing your nation. Trade team alliances could be beneficial to those with weaker nations but even then in the closing km's it's every man for himself.

If WvA wanted to win he needed to do more when they chased Alaphilippe. To crying foul because Roglic didn't help "enough" is a bit silly and feels very unsporting to me.

Awesome race today, yesterday, well seems more could have been done by the chasers. Easy to say I guess,

One question: IF Podg had saved his attack for one lap later, which might have been the outcome? Obviously Rodg was the Slovian man, but .....
