Hi Hubbers

Even though I am going to get a stress test done by Carbon Bike Repairs, thought I would get hublands opinion first on whether this is indeed a crack or maybe just a paint rupture.

Area of concern circled in red. BTW this is where the FD mounts.

It looks like the diameter of the tube changes? if artificially so thats a crack vote for squeezed to death.

If thats just how the frame shape goes - 1 vote paint.

Diameter of tube does change. As is the general consensus, think it is cracked :(

If you tap a coin (or similar) down the length of the seat-tube, the sound will likely change as you get closer to the 'crack'. If the sound doesn't change, there may be more hope of it being paint/superficial deformation. It's by no means a foolproof test, but it might provide another reference point! Good luck, regardless.

The paint is already kaput, remove the paint so you can see clearly what’s cooking underneath. I’d hazard a guess and say it’s only the paint that is cracked. Edited by SwissVan

It looks (by the surrounding blkack smudge) like it took a hit?

I wouldn't give CBR the time of day, find someone more reasonable.

If not CBR, who can you recommend? Thanks
