Guys watch out i think the stealing of Roof racks from vehicles is at an all time high.... Parked my vehicle for about 20min at the hospital only to return and my roof rack together with the bicycle rack gone.. Literally forced off with a crow bar or something, so its never tight on the vehicle. Even the car guards just useless..

Looks to be slummies?

Also hope they didn't damage the sills of the vehicle?

In broad daylight between 3pm & 3:20pm, even car guard claims he saw nothing🙄. Sucks!!

At least they're on brand with the ones here. Hence I ignore them

The Thule type racks that are platform.

Lately seems guys stealing the arms that hold the frame.

Must be fellow riders.

When rack is on car without bikes no ways do I leave those arms on.

Mate had arms stolen in cradle area.

The amount of Thule stuff I've seen on Facebook marketplace where I thought to myself "that doesn't look like a cyclist" is alarming.

The prices were also ridiculously low for roof racks.

Agree with you on leaving arms on the rack. In less than ideal areas I will even take the rack off and pop it in the boot.

And there are definitely some cyclists buying those parts, not all, but certainly some. We are our own worst enemies sometimes...

honestly, paying a car guard is the biggest joke in SA.

You pay for a car tracker, pay for insurance, pay for an alarm in your car, pay for reverse sensors.

Then you must pay for someone to stand around watching your vehicle, getting in the way of your reverse sensors. When in reality he has no training, no fitness and probably no capability in stopping a car burglar at the best of times.
