Ahem....  You stuck in 2018 by any chance?  Don't let SARS catch you short changing them by 1%

Good point. On the negative side, I see the ront is tanking again. On the positive side, I see that Walmart was announcing 90% drop in profits as they are having to dump inventory, so there is a chance that the natural oversupply will lead to a drop in pricing over time as that is just the way the economy works.
IF the ront can just come back a bit, I would have that things improve in the next year or so?

I die a little everytime I see a woolies bag in my kitchen.. 🥹

I had to do a small shop on the way home, milk and bread.

Woollies @ engen

holy crapamoly, i understand it's a 24hr convenience shop but the ring is pulled solid here.

1l milk = R24.

Instead I got a litre of diesel as it's cheaper, still buzzing from my coffee this morning.

As I'm to cheap to buy Steadyracks (which IMHO, as good as they are, are over priced anyway) I went on a hunt for bike storage hooks.

Whilst these are not the same brand name items, all of them were pretty much the same material, same construction method and I'd bet if you removed the packaging you could not tell one brand from the other.

4 different stores, prices ranged from R 130 - R 1000

Has anyone else noticed that the price of used goods on this platform has increased in price quite abit as of late.

There are a few  used bikes as well as used parts for sale that are a fraction cheaper than what they run for new. This leads me to believe the bubble has poped in the retail space and prices are normalizing while the 2nd hand market still needs to catch up cause most people bought in the bubble.

Also seems that ads are staying on longer than before too.

We getting R5,30/litre off the farm.

Before they skim the cream and sell that at R120/l and put the rest in a bottle.

Find your nearest dairy farmer and buy direct if you are on the urban fringe

Yessir, solution.  We did this with a few other families, taking a turn every four weeks to collect and deliver to each fam.  Just 8k’s to the farm and most worthwhile with three rapidly growing kids.

So, this morning I was in a well known bike shop in CPT grabbing some bar tape, and up for sale they had a Demo Cannondale Topstone 2.

So: Aluminium bike, 10 speed GRX (but with an FSA crank), and Demo model so lightly used.

R40,000.

HOW EVEN. The poor sales guy thought I was interested. He did try tell me that it retailed at “R55k new” and was “reserved for a customer”. Shame. Hope he is just making that up or someone’s getting properly shafted 😂
