Italians speak with their hands and arms, mos.
The lanky sprinter tried to bump Bini out of position behind his teammates earlier on as he was in the wind. Bini bumped right back of course.

After the adrenaline subsided, Jonathan went to the team bus to apologise (with video footage, of course). The race for the maillot vert is very hot.

Sprinters are born with tremendous fire in their bellies. 🥴

To say the least!

Absolute twat. Totally Uncalled for behaviour. I wish him rotten days on the bike henceforth

Sadly, I agree. Totally unnecessary, Day 2 as well.

I'm not sure if there was anything else that upset him - the theory is that this might have been the reason:

Bro needs to really relax.

Any hubbers going to be in France to watch any of the TdF stages live? I'm flying to Marseille on the 16th July on my ace and renting a little van to drive through the alps, do some riding and hopefully catch some of the TdF (maybe the Mt Ventoux stage on the 22nd). Give me a shout if you want to hook up for a mission

After the crashfest yesterday, today's course is a toughie.

Tough PR for Cofidis as they've been involved in two crashes - Stage 1 sprint points and now the exiting of the maillot vert. I am always concerned about concussion as the brain is so crucial for daily living, never mind athletic and high performance endeavours.

Bonus seconds are on the line. I reckon that Mathieu would want to demonstrate his versatility and ride for his teammate who broke his shoulder bone and ribs. Tadej will be looking to score some seconds on the GC ladder and begin the 'scoreboard pressure'. Jonas would want that too.

Theoretically, a day for the breakaway. However, traditional scripts are no longer in play with modern racing, hey.

Today's finalé will be great to watch:

Jasper:

“Preliminary diagnosis for Jasper Philipsen following his crash in Stage 3 of @letourdefrance :

Displaced fracture of the right collarbone, surgery will definitely be required. At least one broken rib, possibly two. He will be as soon as possible transferred to the hospital in Herentals, where he will undergo surgery.

We wish Jasper all the best and a speedy recovery.

I reckon he must have a helluva concussion as well.

AGREED

As a big WvA fan, I am suspicious of his(Wout's) low profile approach currently.

Some theories:

1. He rode Giro, carrying fatigue, so might only be planning to peak later in LeTour

2. He is there purely as support-rider for GC, will only be freed if JUMBO GC aspirations are outside of reach.

3. He is purposefully targeting stages which MvdP wouldn't target, to increase his chances. Maybe attempt a repeat of the 2021 Ventoux win (Which can only happen if Point 2 has been reached).

All things combined, Wout might start to show his colours towards the end of week 2, into week 3.
