I'm with you ... Yawn fest now, atleast for me i had hope, but Pogi is just heads above the rest unfortunately

There’s still some potential relief that the unbelievable performances will fall foul of the “health inspectors” and open up the podium.

Wow I did not expect that, this has burn out written all over it, but what do I know, UAE must surely have a couple of recovery tricks up their sleeves

I am expecting him to go hard for the ITT world champion title as well, since this year, it's particularly hilly and might be his chance to beat Remco.

So he will likely have a very busy schedule at the end of the year:

Vuelta ends on the 14th of September

WC ITT starts on the 21st of September

WC Road Race starts on the 28th of September

Il Lombardia starts on the 11th of October

"It's just unbelievable. It's really what I've worked all for – not just this year, but the whole time. It's really incredible, and hours and hours of hard work from so many people, so to pay them back today is really, really amazing…”

~ Ben Healy on his first Tour de France stage victory

What are the chances that MvdP can win today after the effort he put in yesterday?

Looked like a number of candles were burnt at both ends yesterday - going to be an interesting day today! I don’t think I’ve ever seen Mvdp look so utterly depleted.

Todays race is likely to be very strategic. Visma will likely do the same they did yesterday and force the pace to try and get Pogi into yellow to keep him on the defensive.

Pogi will likely want to keep MVDP in yellow till the next TT. If MVDP has the legs today he'll likely be the winner. I don't think he'll want to be in the break today after yesterdays effort. They can / will recover the lost nutrients but having an easier day is better

It's pretty clear that Visma want to make every stage as hard as possible in the hope that Taddy will fatigue more than Jonas over time. Even Taddy questioned their motive yesterday.
I'm guessing this is their best strategy at try to beat a rider that they know is at the top of his game.
Jonas has proven to get better with time so it's not altogether a bad idea. Realistically, what other options do they have now?

It obviously has the potential to backfire spectacularly.

No critique to be levelled at your observations.

Visma needs to try something, I'm thankful they are contributing to a bigger plan now and working towards something instead of sitting back an hoping they can snatch some time in one or two specific stages.

It can blow up spectacularly, but that is still showing intent, which should be good for the Sponsors and team as a whole.

My thoughts as well, it either works or it doesn't. I think man against man we know who's to win, without trying they'll never know and if Taddy is questioning then that's exactly what they need to keep doing to try and win.

then you've not been watching road cycling enough, I've seen this from him plenty of times before. Worst one has to be the Road World Champs where he was clear favorite to win but then went pop 💫
