I have recently discovered that your area is blessed with some of the greatest mtb routes anywhere. As soon as you leave the coast and head into the hills you can lose yourself for days without covering the same ground. Heck, in 1 afternoon we spotted Rhino, Eland, Nyala, Springbok, Blesbok, Lion, Zebra, Impala, Blue and Black Wildebeest and a few I forget, all from the road, without even entering any of the numerous game reserves.

That's so true and to get to any one of the gravel roads you start with a nice hill climb but when they are done one definitely has got some of the best and safest roads to ride in SA.

By the way, I'm so fortunate because I also live and work where the Attakwas ends B);)

65km ride on the new 3 Rivers Trails outside PE. Trail will be officially launched at the end of September. Awesome variation between jeep track and singletrack. Massive climbs and awesome scenery:

I chose the 30something km ride and it was fantastic. Some steep climbs but all in all lovely area for MTB'ing.
