Pikey Posted October 13, 2020 Share Flared and really wide, 540 on the hoods and 640 in the drops. The reason I believe is comfort for longer rides. What I have noticed that in almost any position my wrists are straight which is great for circulation. Riding in the drops is also way more comfortable than in the drops on my road bike. Obviously less aero but not a factor on a gravel bikeAm so used to my flared bars now I don’t think I could go back to standard bars. Took a few rides, but you were so right Wayne ???????? Much more control in the drops and also it takes out some vibrations on corrugation. I also know when i had too much beer the weekend when it gets difficult to reach the drops. If you do gravel packing/touring the flares gives you more space between the drops when using a handlebar roll.
