I have never seen so many hawks in one area, like they are waiting for something to die. Luckily I was not followed so I didn't look like I was dieing 😁

PS: The photos does not do it justice but I had to try and capture it.

My first 100+ in a long long time but went great actually. You can go faster by going slower.

I saw this on Malanshoogte once. Termites were migrating and all the birds were having a feeding frenzy. Normal birds, hawks, falcons, buzzards, eagles the lot. I had a few moments with termites being grabbed out of the air right in front of me. This reminds me of that day because then the birds also formed this tall tower with the apex predators (Fish Eagles and Verreaux's Eagles) circling at the very top. It was a sight to behold.

MONDAY MOTIVATION:

Some days you have 30 and you can give 30. On other days you have 80 and you can give 80. That means you gave 100%.

You’re human, not a robot.

Speaking of 100%, great to see that you're back to full strength, regularly on the bike, confident and doing what riding bikes is all about: finding your zen.

Straight into this, at 36km/h

A few of us were trailing the main bunch by about 20m, there was a large puddle to the left with some potholes around, 5am and cloudy so not great visibility.

We had moved to the middle of the road to avoid the water and potholes, at the last second the guy infront of me moved left and I was greeted with the kerb dead centre.

I really thought I was going OTB, but somehow the front wheel climbed the kerb, i was no longer in control, just trying to stay upright whilst looking for the best place to fall, again, miraculously I stayed upright as the bike went down the kerb on the left, ejecting my water bottle into the path of my rear wheel.

How there is no damage to the bike or me is beyond me, but it certainly made me a lot more cautious the rest of the ride.
