We rode Express Petroleum Thomas River MTB on Saterday, and with the hills having names like Marks Murder, and Death Valley, I decided that gears were in order (also the fact that I've been extremely lazy this winter).

The ride was great, and the last 10km were mostly downhill, and singletrack along the river, so I caged a beer from buddies who were manning the 10km to go waterpoint.

Then it was steep downhill for a kilo or two, where I overtook all the riders who passed me while I was drinking my beer, then this happened, from doing a back wheel slide around a bend,

I had a little lie-down, thankfully I was riding with a camelbak, so I landed on it. A quick remount, and a sprint under the oaks single-track

Great ride, and great hospitality from the farmers, I only left after 12 that night :whistling:

looks like uncle John is warning the okes about the slow toppie around the bend....   :whistling:

pity I missed it (again) especially after the nightmare Mangaung MTB

I hear that there is a 9km mtb trail coming in Klein Brak Rivier, anyone knows of more details? Apparently someone from CT is helping with the development of said tracks.

A bad day cycling is better than a good day working.

Fellow hubber Warthog and myself did the Alzu Tour de Farm today on our single speeds. Then we proceeded to put away several cold ones as a reward for our efforts. Great ride and great company. Cheers Warthog!

Down South and around Cape Point with Beattbox, riding the old classics. Picture at Smitswinkels. The water was so clear, I swear I could see some crayfish on the bottom laughing at me!
