Ma se hare! But it was loads of fun 😛

hehehehe, wait until you get the bill for new groupset parts.

There's a reason any sane mtb'r would avoid riding trails in the rain. But don't take my word for it, go ask any of the handful of participants who finished K2C 2019.

Luckily it wasn't that bad ... just 2 spots of crappy mud I  had to go through

A lekker 3day (1 night 2x day) race.

I feel sorry for event organisers when so little show up. I think we where max 30-40 cyclist.

It was a great route with the longest climb I've ever encountered. It would have been better for the only waterpoint of the race to be after that climb or maybe 2 waterpoints would have been nice.

Big Red Barn

Tough ride, was looking forward to the tailwind down atlas but the bike had other ideas. As I got out of the saddle to power up the overpass the seal on the plug I put in last week let go.
Was going to put a new plug and whilst trying to insert it the bead pulled away from the rim. So had to put a tube in.

Went to Old Mill Drift Farm outside Clarens and made the questionable decision to ride the Old Mill Drift Pass back to Clarens with a mate.

Climbed close to 900 meters in less than 15km, max gradients 1 in 4 or 30% according to Garmin, ran out of water so topped up with GENUINE Maluti Mountain Spring Water (R60 for 500ml and Broadacres Spar), minus temps at the top (2200m) causing permanent ice and frost on the trail, and a little over the bars on the decent towards Clarens from a sneaky rock.

Best adventure since lockdown!
