Lekker ride on Saturday only posting now it took me some time to cool down. Not from the ride from the second brand new tyre destroyed by a nail in 3 months 🤬 thats more than I think I have ever had in 20+ years of driving.

Still the view made me feel better. Probably 20 minutes to the top and 2 down 😂

Some years ago I saw a tyre with a nail in and couldn't understand how that happened and after 2 I still don't 😭😂

As my boet said, "ten minste het jy 'n spyker gekry" 🙃

I was driving to the office this morning, with the most stunning sun rise to the right ....  SO wished you were out there and taking a photo of it.

Is this ride as enjoyable IRL as it was on the trainer?

YES, it is VERY nice 👍

I regularly do the Bellville to Philladelphia section.

No shoulder .... but the cars are considerate.  Even the trucks slow until safe to pass.

LOTS of cyclists on this road !!  So even on a solo ride you are never really alone.

Road condition is good.

A good few hills to keep you on your game.

And it gets "very interesting" when the wind comes up and you head home into a gale force South Easter ......

To up the distance a bit I now head out on Bottelary, Klipheuwel, Philladelphia, back via Durbanville.
