the bike is its own version of therapy....the escape....the joy....and when you sometimes have to stop...to think...its a hectic world and a bike helps you make decisions....its the space to do so..

A reboot of the system and, on the downhills anyway, lets you forget how old you are for too short a time!

My wife 'I can see this thing is eating away at you and you need to go out and ride on the road so get your kit on and get your bike!'

Support vehicle sorted

She's just cool like that 😎

Can we arrange for my wife to spend some time with yours? I hope such behavior rubs off. I can't remember when I last got an instruction to go ride my bike...

Took Night Crawler out for its inaugural "gravel" ride.

One of those where you leave the house with no plan but to go out and ness around on some dirt. Recent rains meant there was a substantial amount of time spent drifting around in sludge at walking speed, giggling like an idiot.

So much fun!

This bike is 😍

Hemel and Aarde Valley, I did a bit of the Black Route, mixed with the Red and the Blue when things got too steep and the track too rough.

at that moment your ride turned into a race (I have a theory that when a group has more than 2 riders, it becomes a race)

I love it when a commuter joins me on my morning ride. Very often they are rather strong, but dont have the stamina to keep the pace going. But always lekker to have a quick chat or a bit of banter with them, seeing the big smiles on their faces whilst keeping up with you.

But when they drop you on there 30 year old MTB in their overalls and 10kg backpack - then the smile disappears and you realise you need to ride more 😁

hahaha, have had that happen too.

I once chased a guy in jeans with a back pack. It was up a 2% gradient, I was doing 30km/h and barely gaining on him. Although in my defense when i caught him I spotted the cycling shoes and riding style and a quick chat revealed he was no ordinary commuter. But still, it took me a good few km to catch him.
