Contermanskloof for their Shuttle Day - borrowed Iwan's Hungry Monkey. Legs are dead. Loads of fun though!

A day on 'the Monkey' must be one of the top 5 most fun things to do out of bed.

What farm is this? Contermans?

I am really keen on driving over to the N-subs for a Tygerberg hills ride. Looks amazing at the moment.

The first 3pics were taken at Bloemendal and the other two on the Green corridor between Contermans and Meerendal. All the trails are fantastic to ride atm

I went for an exploring ride on Saturday, using paper maps and with some referance to google earth, to find a ridable route between Kei Mouth and Wavecrest Hotel. The huge obstacle is the Kobonqaba river, which is often deep over the rainy season.

Waiting for the ferry, youhave to wait for acar to come, they won't cross for a cyclist

The view, all I wanted was a cup of coffee. I was offered instant, but asked for filter, which they kindly made for me, then charged me nothing.

Finally on the beach after crossing the Kobonqaba river at low tide, waist deep, and almost getting caught in quicksand, a very real danger on the bigger Transkei rivers, along with Zambezi's

Looks like a fair amount of water around Dean? Nice and green.

That green is the lawn, but the veld is greening up nicely. There's been a fair bit of rain this winter here

Oh wow. Wavecrest - that place still around? As a student after getting paid for an internship I took my first solo holiday there. Got flown in on a 4 seater plane, spent my days rowing boats and playing on the beach with their dogs :)

Would've been amazing if I rode a bike back then. Very jealous Mr dean.

Beautiful place. The hotel was empty this weekend though. I was surprised that they were open.
