Can we just lob every hardtail to gravel drop bar conversion bike in this thread. Like every single one of them. Sorry to those who have done it and think it looks great.

I wouldn't say lazy. Simple yes. These, and other steel bikes like it..(starling etc) are mostly single pivot designs, and designed to be simple, low maintenance. It literally uses 6 bearings, 2 of which never needed replacing. So 4 bearings. Compare that to the 12 in my new plastic bike…

Hydration, yes I did ride with a pack on it haha. It had two bottle mounts. One on the bottom of top tube…bottle always fell out in the top considering where you ride these, and another set under the down tube close to the BB so you could get your bottle full of cow sh!t on the liaison! 😅
