Taun Bewsher/ Cederberg UltraMtb Update: I have been refunded my 8K by Taun's father-in-law. I explained to him that I was uncomfortable taking his money and that I would rather wait for Taun to refund me along with all the others when his new overseas business venture takes off. I am now under pressure to remove my posts here and on FB. Which morally I can't actually agree to do. 

I still have no proof of any fire that caused our Cederberg cycle trip to be cancelled last minute, nor proof that "Mike Walters" ever existed. I do however have a letter from my bank explaining that this was a "Goods Scam"...

Do not accept that.!!! I’m sorry to say it but please don’t sell your silence so he can continue operating.. please please please.. that’s a bribe not a refund.! A refund doesn’t come with conditions.😭

Step ONE - make SURE those funds CLEAR .... then make very sure it is not reversed somehow .....

 

Step TWO - get some LEGAL advise as to how to AMEND your previous posts ....  surely your posts were correct "At the time of posting" ... and EDIT with a date added should be able to wrap it up, even spelling out a family member came to his rescue (probably better legal terms) ....

 

It would be a pity if this episode was cleared from the internet .... 

 

 

@Prince Albert Cycles could possibly assist with the legally correct wording.  Couple of other legal wise members that could assist as well.

I agree 100% but in another persons case this might not be plausible.

At this stage I would seriously consider taking the cash and put this all behind me and go forward although I would like to take this bloke down....properly.

That’s what kills me.. it’s a lot of money.. it’s suuuch a dificult one.. 😭😭 right now I wouldn’t be in a position to turn the “refund” it away so I get it.. 😭😭

The frustrating part ....

 

The case rest on money given and services not rendered.

 

ANY attempt to prosecute will be stopped in its tracks by "the money was returned"  .....

 

 

The frustration, lost trip, sleepless nights .... none of these can be refunded .....  just glad @Belinda Roxburgh is one of those that managed to get her money back.  Small mercies.

 

For the sake of his next victims .... it sure would be nice if there was a legal way around deleting the old posts ....

If its a victim scenario, they *must* file a case of fraud with saps. By joining the class action on their own wont help - they must have a saps case number

Dont remove your posts. They were factual and have a lot of relevance to the bigger picture

Parents-in-law also simply caught in the web and would desperately like to believe what Taun tells them for the sake of their family. They are also victims here imho ..

wow, lot to unpack there - I don't have much input for what you do next with the money.

There was indeed a fire in the cederberg in the krakadouw area mainly for a while.

I'm guessing the "postponed to April tour" won't have happened.

The potential follow-up would be with the accomodation providers for the tour. A quick phonecall/email to them could result in confirmation if a tour was:

*booked/deposit paid/cancelled

*never intended on taking place

If it's the latter, then a warning to them that their names were used to sell a "false offering".

The fire was apparently of the back up vehicles and catering business , this was on 5 Feb2025. Taun refused to give me details of this sensitive issue becasue he is suing them for damages to his business.

If you are under pressure to remove your posts, it could be considered a suppression payment, which would be an illegal act. @Prince Albert Cycles would maybe have more clarity?
