Am I right when I say that a new member on the forum that is refusing to use Bikehub Pay is most likely trying to conduct fraudulent transactions?

They claim they had issues in the past with payouts but they've only been registered for a month and have no ratings yet.

How does one report people like this?

I agree, I have not had any issues with Bikehub payment, actually suggested it to some sellers and all were happy after the sale.

Agree it's a red flag.

Simply just don't buy from them and if you think its dodgy use the report ad button under the item description/specs.

I don't think a 1 star review is needed.

Wouldn't go a far as the 1 star rating without proof. If you haven't done a transaction, then it's not fair to rate, just based on someone not wanting to use a service.

If something doesn't feel right, avoid the transaction and flag with admin as you have done.

I can imagine someone not wanting to use the pay service purely due to lack of knowledge. I was hesitant the first time and was a bit of a learning curve, but was pleasantly surprised and would use it again.

Still nothing beats the old time meeting a Hubber in person and handing over the goods with cash

User: Bikehub101

Claims to work out of Granny Gear bike shop.

Thanks.

It would appear that this user was previously banned for attempting to avoid our modest dealer listing fees. This duplicate account is a further infringement of our T&Cs and has been suspended.

GrannyGear - I’m sure you wouldn’t take kindly to folks coming to your shop and leaving without paying. Please show us and other bicycle businesses using Bike Hub the same respect.

I've used BH Pay a few times and sometimes one wish to get the cash sooner, especially if the item you're selling need to go down to CT from Gauteng, but, its not that I will point blank refuse using the service if it means I can conclude the sale.

The process does inherently add a delay vs. getting the cash upfront. We've been doing a lot of work behind the scenes to streamline the payment processes, both incoming from buyers and outgoing to the seller.

Later this year we aim to launch instant payouts... watch this space.

I think it's totally fair if you explain fully why you are reviewing 1 star. If I walk away from a purchase because of the seller's behaviour during discussions I can fairly make that info public and others can decide how they feel about it objectively.

Agreed, but I guess there is room for abuse.

I was the buyer in my experiences where I would start comms with the seller, he disappears for a day or 3, then simply ignores me or tells me that he had sold the item. Sellers also often sell on the Hub, but does not delete the ad. When enquiring they simply ignore you, or respond a week later with the news that they sold the item.

Many would argue that you have to smile, wave, and move on .........................
