I have long worked on the belief that one should not assume malice when pure incompetence would explain a situation.

Not sure if it's the case, but someone told me that Netflix was filming Merc (for Drive to Survive). I think they had a bad race the last time Netflix filmed them, as did Ferrari when they were filmed.

Did anyone follow the sky news interview yesterday with Toto? I followed it in bits and pieces via twitter. He(Toto) has been a fan of GR since he was 15. Hearing(well reading in my case) that interview and the stories he tells about GR makes me like the guy a lot.

I haven't been following F2 so when I saw the comment here on the thread about "Marzipan" being a bit aggressive I did a bit of Google searching and see he's a real piece of work - and that's before this latest little stunt on Instagram.  Haas must be in serious financial difficulty for them to even consider this guy - I hope the financial backing is worth the admin because he's going to be a handful.

 

He looks like he could be another Santino Ferrucci - he also blew his F1 career (although he seems to be doing better in Indy)

So what is everyone's thoughts on this young driver test debacle.
From what I understand FIA has allowed Alonso (no youngster) to test saying he is a new rider in a team.
BUT now they have dismissed Vettel and Sainz's request even though they would meet that criteria.

I think the FIA are similar to any governing body, making up the rules as they go along, all depending on viewership numbers. 

 

If the FIA and F1 could have a Romain crash every weekend they would, just for the massive viewership.
