Tinker is a Legend[emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

Check out the Walkman

I remember a few years ago (Ok, a good few years) reading an article where they were interviewing him. In the background of the pic his was was sitting and removing the chamois from his bibs as Tinker does not like the feel of it ......

He came across as a grounded, softy yet tough guy!

it's dumbasses like that that get the animalls into ***. OOh, look a lion, I get excited! I'm taking a photo! It won't hurt me, the ranger has a gun!

Bollocks. Should have taken him back to the camp the minute he decided to not listen and continue using a normal volume level of speech.

Richard Goldbury stands with his 11th garage-built bike. This a carbon fiber enduro bike that features an Effigear gearbox system. Not a fan of derailleurs, Richard designed and built the bike himself. He avoided the concentric drivetrain design, laid up and cured the carbon frame himself and even created an adapter that allows the use of a trigger shifter with the Effigear system. #inspiration.

The downtube is an old paddleboard handle and instead of pivots, Richard Goldbury uses carbon leaf springs. The Kiwi made this in his garage using electrical tape to compress the carbon and resin while it cured rather than a vacuum bag. The frame is in the 800g range and should hold up to the abuse of his 8-year old.

that was most likely taken from a chopper that managed to get a few shots of almost all the teams as they left the vicinity of new zealand en route to brazil.

the start of the leg was delayed by three days, to allow for cyclone pam to chill first. they still got whacked a bit, but it's all lining up for the only true southern ocean leg of the race now. this is the holy grail of sailing. big boy underpants required.
