irony is that the engineer for the bridge is a rather good cyclist....and all round nice guy to boot

I just have to add that the single track that was built on Kirstenbosch land, both the loop below the top gate, and the link taking you through the top of the garden, connecting the SANParks controlled areas of Cecilia Forest with Newlands Forest, are ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. Well thought out, well built, fun, sustainable. Makes me wonder who exactly did it!

Hennie

He was the first guy to employ me when I had finished studying.

My 1st Xmas bonus was an old set of MTB wheels he had in the corner. They saved me from changing switching between road and mtb tyres twice a week. In fact, he loaned me money to buy my first MTB - a Produx demo model

This trail was apparently built by the Kirstenbosch manager who is a keen biker himself

Nope. :P

Used to ride with him, Donkey and a few others back in the day. Haven't seen him for a long time though.

Makes no difference to me how you know him, he is still Mr :P ... at least that is how I view him.... did a short cycle with him towards the end of the year either on the way to or back from work.

LOL. Fair enough. He's certainly a legend in the engineering world. Edited by Myles Mayhew
