Some of the Banksy stuff is rather dull from a fine art point of view. But then it is usually very strong in concept or message!

 

(Also, keep in mind that there are many works out there that are not real Banksy ones, usually those are very light on the concept / message front.)

 

I'll go sit in the corner now, but there is no way in Hell I'll drink the Ricoffee!

Some of Banksys stuff is really good. It’s the “Banksy disciples” that are doing him injustices, cheapening his message.

Wanna go bigger? Leonardo Da Vinci - Keep in mind that a Fresco during his time was nothing but a mural ......... not so different from todays street art! Full circle?

What makes graffiti special to call it art? It's average at best.

I think that about some modern art as well.

But I'm not an expert either.
