Please dont go after a weekend.  I have found needles, blood bags, syringes, body parts on more than one occasion on this stretch - seriously.  And it is supposed to be a "blue flag beach" ....well it is flying the flag?

Glass and other trash is collected by us regularly and summarized.

When next here, give me a shout and I will show you around.

Very sad indeed.

I was knocked out by that drone footage.

As a guest of, and onetime Country Member of the Durban Undersea Club, it was one of my favourite places anywhere. Just to sit at DUC with a simple meal and a beer and watch the ships enter and leave Durban Harbour was wonderful, even when it was raining! I'm talking about 10+ years ago though.

What became of the plans to turn Vetch's into a posh yacht marina?

If my memory serves me right, the film they made won the BANF Film festival a couple of years ago.

Edit: For those who don't know, El Capitan is a rock face in Yosimite in the USA. It is a sheer face almost the height of Table Mountain and a lot of conventional climbers do it in 2 days, climbing halfway up, sleeping on a portable ledge and climbing the 2nd half the next day. Alex free climb the whole thing in a few hours. Despite what some may think, he is not a daredevil or reckless at all. He is an incredibly talented, calculated and scientific climber who trains and prepares in the extreme. Will I do that, even if I could? Hell no! Not over my dead body!

There's an EXCELLENT documentary about that very rock face, and the attempts to climb it. Valley Uprising, it's called. Seeing it progress from "impossible" to a record of one day and then beyond was awe inspiring.

True.

Except that he is absolutely bonkers!
