Thats a terrible story

Friends lived on a farm bordering Kruger park. He came home one day to see his JR on the wring side of the game fence barking at a pride of lions, tough but not the brightest little guys around.

That is nothing. The company my dad works for axed a few staff after they ate my dads kittens. Dad has a few cats at work, and a few more joined the party, so they started to do the nasty.

Few weeks ago my dad found the food bowls still full. So after some investigation they found that some of the workers had a liking for cat.

So please guys. Keep your pets save. There are scum out there who sees your pets as food.

You have to be sick or desperate to do something like that

Meet Rolo the Ridgeback

The destroyer of shoes, gardens, gardenhoses and motorcycle mudguards...

I discovered recently that you can have one lonely dog, and a garden.  Or two happy dogs, and no garden.  I prefer the latter!

An interesting tip you might want to try is to mix Vaseline and Citronella oil together and smear it over whatever they chew.  Seems to have worked quite well in my case - I'm going on 3 weeks now without having to drop R40 on a new sprinkler-head....

Weird thing is... Kahlua (my ridgeback) actually calmed down a bit when Nugget passed awayr a couple of months ago.

She's going to have some trouble shortly again, though!  :w00t:  My wife was checking her "tanning" in the sun just yesterday and commented "Lê maar terwyl jy nog kan..."  (That just doesn't translate nice... but in short - enjoy laying around whilst you still can)

My Staffie Pumba got killed by a leopard in Botswana (I rented a house on a farm outside Lobatse).

Got home one night at around 02h00 (worked at the local Casino in Lobatse at the time) and Pumba was not at the main gate to greet me, as usual.

Slowly drove the kilometer to the house, expecting to see a dust cloud as he came running down the road.

Got to the gate at my house to be met by the most awfull sight.

Accoding to the farm owner Pumba must have put up a good fight, as there was evidence of a titanic battle.

Even now (after almost 15 years) I get choked up when I think of this, Pumba was my best friend who helped me cope with an divorce. He was the most mellow staffie I ever met.

That is horrible,

my heart just dropped reading that.

Dont know what i would do if that happened to my boy.

On another not my cousins in-laws own game farms and on more than one occasion his boerboels have managed to chase away lone male lions close to his house.

They even managed to kill a couple baboons that attacked the grandchildren.

was driving along the N1/N3 this afternoon just before 5pm at buccleuch interchange, it's 5 lanes of highway, there was a tortoiseshell cat in the middle of the highway. I saw it narrowly missed by a car and it was spinning around petrified, I can only imagine someone must have chucked it out or it escaped out of a car, I feel really bad that I couldn't stop to help it.

Meet Ritchey, he has been my friend for just over two year.  In the beginning I was adamant that he was going to be an outside dog, haha, he has never slept a single night outdoors but rather occupies most of my bed now!

He is extremely fast...

And he loves spending time with me (or maybe he just likes the sand dunes)

Very cute boy you have.

Is it just me, or does anyone else believe all dogs should sleep inside ? I would not be able to sleep at night knowing my dog is outside... Would freak me out.
