avatar Posted November 26, 2019 Share Where do you get that deal? A 2 year old Rancilio Silvia 'hardly used' is making me think about stretching my budget.Would this be a good purchase? This is a very different game compared to an auto bean to cup machine. Also, I don't have a grinder though, so will have to make do with shop ground coffee

A decent bean to cup machine is a much better and more practical office machine - especially if you get to pair it with a good small espresso machine and grinder at some point. My office has a 2 group commercial machine - and even that causes a backlog for meetings - although some of that relates to the operators not being super efficient. splat

V12man Posted November 26, 2019 Share I work from home - the office consists of just me .No visitors? more than 1 visitor and you will feel the constraints of the small sbdu machine - far better to save a while and buy a heat exchanger based machine - slightly bigger but much better capacity - especially with milk based drinks - and usually better steaming too - and a good grinder
Wayne Potgieter Posted November 26, 2019 Share Need some advice based on experience. I have one of these at home https://www.breville.com/us/en/products/espresso/bes980.html and it is absolutely amazing - its sort of ruined other coffee for me when i travel. I was thinking of getting myself something like this for portable use, but not sure if the hype is to be believed. Has anyone got any experience with these? I am specifically not looking at the capsule option. https://www.amazon.com/WACACO-Nanopresso-Portable-Minipresso-Operated/dp/B0797T2FYL/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1N2QZM8FU7FPX&keywords=nanopresso&qid=1574798689&sprefix=nanop%2Caps%2C316&sr=8-
Christie Posted November 27, 2019 Share ☝️ I have one of those, it can make a very good espresso in combination with a Hario grinder. If done right, it beats the office Jura ito quality. The only challenge is to get the dosing just right.I would suggest that you get the expander gadget to make 2 espressos if you ever want to make more than one shot at a time. It is a hassle to clean and tricky keep the water from cooling down too much for a second shot. CAAD4 Posted November 27, 2019 Share I bought one last week and have only used it once so far, test run, I need to tamp more. What I can say, is that's a great price on Amazon. Wayne Potgieter

splat Posted November 27, 2019 Share Pics or didn't happen... Got home, plugged it in a let it heat up while fiddling with the buttons.1st shot using the single shot basket was a disaster.2nd shot was with the double basket and that came out quite nicely. I am using Bootleggers espresso grind because they are just up the road. Now for a decent tamperand then a milk jugandandand... the nerd, Muttley, Long Wheel Base and 3 others
Let's Ride Posted November 27, 2019 Share Aeropress. Very easy to use, google inverted method. Portable and makes great coffee. Enjoying the aeropress compared to a Seaco machine. Seaco probably needs to be descaled etc. Need some advice based on experience. For pitcher i started off with one from game by steelking and used it for years only recently bought one off Takealot off a daily deals. splat
