YOH! That looks nice!! How do you find it handles the rougher stuff as this is definitely an upgrade I'm considering. Excluding the flat pedals, though. 😅

I've done everything from the Spruit to Wolwespruit, Grootfontein, Buffelsdrift and Thaba Trails (plus bonus lines) on this bike. Also a really steep, rough and technical bit of trail near home. It handles everything I have thrown at it without breaking a sweat. Obviously when things get really rough and fast I can't charge quite as hard as I would on my Pyga Hyrax, but there is nothing I have come across that I'd say is too gnarly for this bike. Even when I had the stock the 120mm fork I did the black jump line at Wolwespruit. IMO the geometry of the bike elevates it from an XC/marathon type bike to a proper short travel trail bike. It even climbs like a beast!

Bought a 2017 Specialized Epic Hardtail to replace my Pyga 110 a few weeks ago, wanted something totally different. 

Freshened it up a bit with new chainrings, cassette, chain, rear disc rotor and stem.

Serviced the Rockshox SID fork.

New grips and dropper arriving soon. Couldn't source a suitable length 27.2 dropper locally so had to buy online - Crank Brothers Highline XC 100mm.

The original rear wheel had a broken spoke so took the opportunity to get a new set of wheels - Mavic XA Elite Carbon with Maxxis Ikon and Rekon Race tyres. 

This little refresh ended up costing a bit more than planned...

Dont mean to be ignorant, but whats the point of using the Varias? 
Honestly just curious, I barely ride on the road, and I do own a Varia (Gifted to me).
I have used mine and dont see any point really.

Added:

I know it detects cars, but doesnt exactly tell you wether its gonna hit you, so doesnt really help in that regard.

As a 98% roadie (2% mtb / gravel bike) mine is the best safety device  ever bought 👌

My new steed. Not really N+1, as my Axis FS is going to my brother.

Most components (frame, fork, wheels with tyres, crankset, shifter, derailleur, and brakes) were bought on Bikehub.

About 11.5kg as is. I will probably replace the cheap handlebar and seat post with carbon ones later.

I use mine everywhere...on long gravel sections, I turn it off via the Edge widget to save battery but on the road...always ON...the new version will capture some interesting action behind you....

Well, something I definitely like for example, is if I want to turn across the road. Of course, I turn my head to check, as normal.

But, if I can see there are four dots coming on my Garmin, I know I have to wait and don't have to look - that reduces the possibility of drifting into the lane while looking behind me, or hitting a %^!@$ cateye and falling in front of the car(s).

Edit 1: Also, I think the very bright light flashes when it detects something, which in theory should at least catch their attention? I've had a driver tell me in broad daylight that they like how visible it is.
Edit 2: Also in theory, the crazy beeping coming from my head unit could help others in the group know there is a vehicle coming, and ride more predictably?

Ah ok, cool, makes sense seems like I have been misunderstanding the main purpose, always thought of it as just telling you how far away a car is while you just riding, which doesnt rlly make a difference at all.

Agreed - at the speed most cars travel, knowing that they are there is far more useful than "ah, there is a car 56m behind me"
