Road and MTB. My theory that the MTB is quite an accurate predictor of your road time will be further tested. The full road closure alone is worth any amount of money - had some scary moments in races this year. Should come with decent legs after the W2W.

Love the race and I can ride from home!

See you there

ME TOOOOO!!! haha... Lekker to have a 2km cycle there. No parking issues or frustration. Start fresh out of the house and no rush if something goes wrong on the road or you forget something.

Have missed my sub 3 by 3min last time after cramping when getting off the highway. This will be the year of the SUB3!!!!!!!!!!!

Doing it for the first time (riding for Border Collie Rescue) and last time!

Its simply getting too expensive these days to do a race as a regular occurance.

My dad was a cyclist his whole life and him and i would have raced the 94.7 together this year. He sadly passed away last year Nov.

So i'll be riding the race in honour of him

My dad passed 3 years ago. He didn't ride but he drove me to every race I said was life and death as a tacker. He sat in the car with tea and cake in Europe winter, spring and summer and high five'd me when it was good. He picked up my kit when i lost my sh*t and couldn't cope. He listened when I shouted and smiled when I won. If you can find a way to honour your da' then do it, it's a blessing.

Am doing both mtb and road, sold my road bike for a mtb earlier this year and haven't looked back since....but am a little concerned that riding on the mtb will be rough going on the tar.. slicks seem like an expensive option just for one day. How much will this slow me down?

depending on how fit you are its going to make the ride a challenge or kill you!!!

you actually dont realize how much the knobblies add to your rolling resistance. if its time you are after its going to slow you down significantly if its just an experience its going to make it harder.

also 100 odd km on tar is not going to be good for your MTB knobblies. if you dont want to go the slicks route consider what new MTB tires are going to cost much sooner than you would ordinarily need them.

i figure buy the slicks and use for the 94.7 if nothing else and shelve for the rest of the year. thats what i do with my RD bike. doesnt see the light of day till the 94.7

i am no pro but thats my 2c from experience
