You give someone a mountain and you never hear the end of it!

Isn't the capability for climbing mountains the very essence that separate cyclist from fun riders? I for one don't get all the boo- Haa. Just get on the bike and ride.

Funny how they market it as "Limited Mountain Bike Entries" with, wait for it...... "Only 6000 entries available"

We need to define mountains. In Europe they have mountains, in South Africa we have mole hills.

So in a race like the Jock, where everyone are in awe of the mountains (read Spitskop and Longtom both < 9km and avg gradient of ± 7%), Spartacus will highly likely win with a more than a fair margin. And he will be rated as a powerful climber........

Put him in the 94.7 and i promise you he will fly past everyone on the hills.

All i meant by Cyclist vs fun riders was this,

Pro = Fabian and co

Semi pro = Hoffman and co

Cyclist = us who get no remuneration from cycling but train regularly and then enter these race/ rides

Fun riders = people who the week before the 94.7 / Amashova / Argus dust off the bike and do the race.

I really dont understand the need to complain about a route or profile, dont do it if it bugs you, just like i dont understand the need to try belittle someone for their difference of opinion, and its not even friday yet.

Note to all entrants

It will be a wide 72 track race if they want to prevent congestion.

If you want a race without 5995 people walking in front of you up a mini hillock, get a decent seeding into batch A or B. Otherwise its a dog show.

I suggest the other 5995 riders to take a picnic basket with, with plenty refreshments and sunblock, gonna be a looong wait at all the bottle necks for it to clear. Just out of interest, what's the entrance fee for the 55 km and what will be available at the water points?

Think it was around 200 ronds last year. Took a banana from a rather cute looking water gal at the water point close to the Gautrain. Didn't stop for what looked like energade, water or coke
